A native of Perth, Ontario, Ron W. Shaw studied journalism at Algonquin College and worked in print, radio and television media in northern and western Ontario for a decade before a 35 years in non-governmental relief and development organizations in Africa, Asia, Eastern Europe and the Middle East.
