This book is invaluable for everyone who is interested in the families and individuals who settled in the Manitoba before 1906. In addition to extensive settlement and development history, the book also provides a long list of individual biographies and family sketches, many including portraits.
During evaluation of the original book, we noticed a tremendous number of references to the places that early settlers came from, and that families from those places often clumped together when settling in Manitoba. That realization resulted in an extensive new Index which identifies every instance of a personal name, plus every instance of a place name.
