The Dalesville Public. Cemetery is located on Lot 16, Range 10, Chatham Township, Argenteuil County, Province of Quebec, approximately 90 miles (144 Kilometers) from Ottawa-Hull. The land for the cemetery was given by John McGibbon sometime soon after 1820. The earliest burial recorded in this book is dated 1831. The most recent burial mentioned is dated 1981
The first section of this book includes transcriptions of the informaton engraved on memorials stones in Dalesville Public Cemetery, Chatham Township, Argenteuil County, Quebec recorded during the summers of 1971 & 1980. Includes an Index (see below for a link to the Index)
The second section in this book includes records transcribed from several broken and scattered stones that was recorded in the late 1930s and rechecked in 1980. Many if not most of those broken stones were missing by 1980. The compilers list infortaion from the stones that survived in 1930s, and also which of those stones still remained in 1980. Includes an Index (see below for a link to the Index)
The third section details vital records from surviving burial records for which there is no surviving grave marker. Includes an Index (see below for a link to the Index)
The fourth section is REMARKS which details some genealogical information on others buried in Dalesville Cemetery as well as a list of stones that were in the cemetery in 1971 but missing by 1980. The final section is not indexed but includes the surnames: Gunn, Patric, Calder, Murdoch, Barrows, Robinson, Stewart, Brown, McArthur, Werson.
This book is a facsimile reprint of the original book published in 1982. No additional or new information has been added since 1982.
