About St Columban Catholic Church, Cornwall, Ontario:
St Columban Catholic Church, located at 36 Fourth St W in Cornwall, Ontario, is a historic and beautifully designed place of worship founded in 1829. The grounds to the east served as the parish's original burial ground (with burials dating back to the 1830s). It includes the graves of Irish Catholics who died during the 1847 typhoid quarantine.
The congregation outgrew its spaces over time, leading to three successive church structures on the site. The first church faced Augustus Street, while later buildings shifted toward Fourth Street West.
Note about print quality: Mr. MacDonald began creating created the paper masters for his books in the 1980s using a photocopier. When Global Genealogy acquired the rights and republished the works in 2010, they digitally cleaned the surviving well-used masters to the best that they can be. The result is quite readable, though some photographs and photocopies of documents are not at the standard that we expect today. Also of note is that MacDonald made pencil correction on his masters from time to time. Those are included as provided to us.
