Pontiac County is located on the Ottawa River upstream (north-west) from the present day cities of Ottawa & Hull, and situated opposite Renfrew and Lanark counties in Ontario. Many of the family names contained in this book will be familiar to those who have researched families in adjoining Eastern Ontario insofar as there was a great deal of movement between these communities.
