The Ketcheson Family history is a genealogical study of twelve generations of the descendants of William and Sally Ayr Ketcheson. Thier son William Ketcheson, born in Yorkshire, England, was destined to become the progenitor of the widespread family largely responsible for a considerable share of the development of what later became the Province of Ontario in the Dominion of Canada. This 10 year research project was undertaken by Jim Ketcheson of Belleville, Ontario and the Ketcheson Family Book Committee.

The 1195 page book, 25,000 names

The Committee's work resulted in a tome of 1195 pages, crammed with information for 10,976 direct descendants. Of great value is the index of 25,000 names (direct descendants, spouses & collateral lines) with multiple page references for most.

The book is designed in a descendant "register report" format, providing names, vital records including births marriages deaths burials, family relationships, locations and notes about individuals and individual family groups. Also included are appendix items that add greatly to the information that the reader can discover about the Ketcheson line.

The eBOOK version includes:

  • The complete 1195 page book in pdf format
  •  Radio interview about the Ketcheson family and the reunion in 2000 (wav format).
  •  Picture of the attendees at the 2000 family reunion in Ontario. (jpg format)
  • An early Irish Atlas has been scanned and included in .pdf format so that researchers can use its many maps to locate the places mentioned in both the book and in the radio interview.
