These books are essential for those with an interest in the early settlement and development of Brome county -- and the descendants of the settlers and early inhabitants of Brome County, who have dispersed throughout Quebec, to other parts of Canada, the USA and beyond.

The Reverend Ernest M. Taylor created two volumes of history of Brome County and family sketches of the people who called Brome their home. The first volume was published in 1908. The author intended to have the second volume ready soon after, "however, various matters occassioned the delay", not the least being the challenge of accumulating the histories of families who settled in the county prior to 1850. That second volume was published 29 years later in 1937.
