The Flamborough 'Papers',  Volume 9 of  Burtch's Ontario Newspaper Transcription Series is an oddity in the Craig Burtch series insofar as the birth, marriage and death records are apparently not directly sourced from newspapers.  Mr. Burtch states in the Introduction that " The material for this work came from the records of the Flamborough Township Office". He does not identify where the township office sourced their information.

Because of the time period (1869-1913) entries were likely extracted from local
civil registration registers. Civil registration in Ontario began midway through
1869. Vital events in this book are listed by event type and then chronologically.
There is no Index, however the digital file (pdf) is searchable by word or name.

This volume includes:

East and West Flamborough 1869-1913 Births, Marriages and Deaths

The entries provide

  • Name/s of the primary individual/s
  • Whether it's a birth, marriage or death
  • Date and year of the event
  • Births of twins are noted in brackets

Books in this series are facsimile reproductions of Burtch's meticulously transcribed entries, originally typed on a manual typewriter. These transcriptions faithfully reflect the original newspaper announcements, preserving their authenticity. However, the print quality corresponds to the manual typing process and may lack the clarity typical of modern computer-generated prints.
