By Peter E. Andersen
This is the fourth of four volumes of careful transcriptions of births, marriages and deaths transcribed from original copies of The Lanark Era newspaper.
Volume Four contains transcriptions from issues that were published from June 17, 1936 to December 27, 1939. There are a few issues missing in this time frame because the original newspapers have been lost. There are more than 1000 births, marriages and deaths from 1936-1939 that are transcribed into this volume, with references to more than 4000 individual names. Peter Andersen passed away prior to the Index being completed for the printed edition. The digital edition is completely searchable.

About the complete 4 volume series
When volumes one and two were compiled, it was thought that several issues were permanently lost. Five years later, copies of the "missing issues" were discovered in a private collection that had been assembled from auction sale buys over several decades. That collector contributed his collection which enabled Anderson to transcribe the third book in the series -- "The Missing Years". The fourth volume was completed in 2015. The four volumes in the series contain information about more than 50,000 individuals.
