More about this series of books::
The alphabetical format of the main part of these volumes will enable you to quickly find any of your ancestors whose vital events (birth, marriage, death) were reported in the Canadian Methodist newspapers from 1830 to 1900. Many of the entries are from Ontario and Quebec, however there are a significant number of entries from coast to coast across Canada, including Newfoundland, and also the Bahamas. Oftentimes the events were previously reported in other newspapers and periodicals. Those newspapers are recorded as sources. That means that researchers may find additional information in the cited newspaper than that that was repeated in the Methodist newspapers and periodicals that were transcribed by Rev. McKenzie. Also of note is that some volumes also contain vital events records for people of faiths other than Methodist.
Rev. McKenzie's detailed and informative introduction to this work, provides the reader with all the information necessary to understand and use the material.
Note about print quality: Rev. McKenzie typed every page of every book on a typewriter. Most of the volumes are very clearly printed, with a typeface that looks retro to modern readers. His discipline was admirable. If he made a as single error on a page, that page was retyped. Some of the print in later volumes is a bit light, and few of the keys on his typewriter became worn, however those later volumes are fully readable and the information contained therein invaluable to the family historian.
